Higher Limit of Indemnity?
As specialist insurers to the cleaning industry, we provide all sorts of cleaning contractors with liability insurance, from sole traders up to large limited companies.
One of the most difficult choices you face as a cleaning contractor is what limit of indemnity to choose for your business.
When an insurer offers you a limit of £1m for a domestic cleaner it sounds huge, but what you need to remember is that it is not only property damage you are looking at, but injury costs too, all of a sudden the £1m limit looks ok should the absolute worst happen.
Working on commercial properties opens you up to much more risk and much higher potential values for your cover.
Whilst it is not an exact science and every cleaner is different, we feel that if you are working on any type of commercial premises you should consider taking a higher limit, be that £2m or even £5m depending on your circumstances.
Some of our clients work in schools, universities or government buildings and we are now seeing them being asked to have a £10m limit on their public liability insurance.
